I love your painting and also I am touch with your mom's words, my father everyday will tell me stories when I was a little and how much I love to jump. lol
yes, sometimes we do see more in our mind than with our eyes-- and that is definitely where are art should come from-- not from what we see but from what we think we see

It's true. Your image captures it beautifully. Reminds me of the time my girlfriends and I spent a summer in Hawaii. We were snapping pictures all over the place, but were stopped in our tracks, when a friend from the island pointed to his heart and said, "Why don't you just take a picture here?"
