THE DOOR

This a piece done on water color paper 10x 15..It is done with acrylic and Ink..
This piece Is symbolic in a way. I seem to have been closing my eyes for along time.
I was trying to avoid things in my life. I realized I have to open them to see the light. We can not keep hiding from reality. Then not only do we have to open our eyes, we have to take steps forward and then we have to come to that door, I will call it the fear door. Then we have to open it up..I did not but a door knob on this door..Because that makes going through that door to easy. You have to knock on this door. And when you are ready to take the step through that door. You have to walk through it on Faith..Blind Faith.. Not knowing what will be on the other side. When we walk through it , we also have to leave the past behind.. Sometimes in life, it is not a door we choose to go through, it is just no other choice.
I suppose everyone in their life comes to these type of doors.. When You do I have you have the Faith to walk through.. And when you do close that door behind you. So there is no going back.
May you always find strength and then find peace.

I know very well the walking through life with closed eyes. Just going through the days doing what needs to be done, but not really looking, not asking the questions that needed to be asked. And yes, fear keeps us from looking and knocking. But, that does not deal with the whatever.

Katelen, if you need to talk, please email me!

Hugs!

you're right Katelen !! and you have made a very simple and pretty door , the kind we never pay attention in life , but , if opened , revels the best kind of lights ....
thanks dear ... see you !!!

well, I could say that I nudged the door open and it came back and smacked me in the face... but that was a long time ago. what a great metaphor and I love your piece. I've always been drawn to doors and windows - maybe this is why?

It is so difficult to hold faith and fear at the same time...best to walk through the doorway and find your best kept wishes...maybe not so bad after all?! Sorry, I am the eternal optimist.
It is a lovely piece...very pale and with special symbolic meaning.

Let's walk through it huh! Something good lies on the other side of all this crap I am sure :)

Life is hard sometimes isn't it. I expect it will get easier for me soon, or at least different. I hope you are okay ....

Walking through a door isn't something I have thought of. I have been carrying the past for so long it seemed to fit right in. I would like to walk through this door and leave this baggage behind! Such a lovely post, thank you so much for sharing your heart and how you see the way through.

Enjoyed reading about the Door, so true about having the courage to walk through it or not.
