Cloud Watching

Today is the day for cloud watching.. Or it was the day I decided to paint this. It had rained and when it rains here the sky is so blue and the clouds are puffy and white and beautiful. So I decided take five minutes and lay back on the grass and look up. OH I see a man running, I see a spirit bird and I see the almost looks like a horse... You can see so many things with using the wonderful word of imagination. My Dad taught me to cloud watch. He could look up in the clouds and show me so many wonderful things..I never knew their were so many things up in the sky. We watched clouds all my life not just as a child but as an adult too...

So now when I watch clouds now I always think of my Dad and wonder is he putting some of these up for me...

This is just done on paper. I did the back ground in blue and just decided to sketch the hieroglyphics in ink.

So if you have not ever took the time to cloud watch..You do not know what is floating above you.

So take Five and sit or lay back and look at the sky...What do you see??

Have a good week and may you always dream in color.

I'm a cloud watcher too, from way back, a lifer :-) The simplest of things can pull so much from us. Thank you for sharing, I use to watch my Dad as he watched the sky...

My goodness, it looks like what you've drawn here are daytime constellations! Super cool.

Strange that you should post about this because I was just outside taking pictures of the clouds. I even caught a plane up there in that beautiful sky. I've always looked at clouds and have always seen forms of various sorts. Most days when I looks at the clouds I see the outline of my dog chorizo who of course went to heaven in 2007. Her face is always outlined in the clouds. I see so many things and yes I feel the same way as if someone I know is outlining things for me to see. Very nice post, thank you. I'll post my cloud pictures on a later day. Take care.

This made me think of all those famous cave drawings in France.

Cloud watching is always fun. Today we had some gorgeous clouds with smooth rounded tops. Very different looking.

Katelen, such sweet memories for you. You know I have not done much cloud watching in my life. I'm going to start - and do this with my grandchildren - maybe it will rub on the my kids too!!

Love you!!

Katelen! I love the new colors.

Cloud watching. YES! I do it everyday. Have you heard of Skywatch Friday? You link your skywatch photos to the blog site and bloggers all over the world post their skies. I sometimes do it when I have no art to post but it takes on a form of it's own. It's very addicting. I love clouds!

Okay. Need to scroll. I missed so much here.

I had to come back for another look having popped by the other day. I just love the blue and the simplicity of the images which remind me very much of those constellation diagrams you see in skywatching books ... and reminded me also of the joy of just lying in the grass and looking up. Somehow we forget the things we enjoyed doing as children. I'm glad you haven't forgotten though! xx Jos
