Take the bad with the good.

Sketch book 2010. Title...WISHFUL THINKING......
I suppose we have to post the bad with the good.. Quick sketch and it is just what it is.
Quick...Done...
No thoughts just drawing.Trying to relax and just wishful thinking..
Thinking I would love to take a trip. With my self and my sketch book, journal and a ton of colored pencils and paints and my camera. Maybe I will throw a few clothes in and my toothbrush. That is it..,

Have a good week.
May you always dream in color.

Wow, a trip like that sounds awesome! Where would you like to go? And this is a quite nice sketch ... thoughtful and expressive.

I'd take that trip too! Sounds like the rest I need! Some of the best drawings come with not much thought. I really like this one. She seems very happy!

Wishful thinking is a great plan...in the meantime... sketch...this one is full of life and whimsy. I wonder what 10 sketches of your beautiful faces would look like on a wall?

Sounds like a fun trip! Can I come, too?

I always show my bad stuff right along with the good. I think it's important to do that because otherwise I get bogged down trying to make everything good and that's just not possible. Many times the things I think aren't any good, others like them....and that's the case here. I think your sketch is good.

This sketch has such a Modigliani feel to it. I love him and have several books of his art and life that I peruse to get inspiration. This was a nice reminder too! Wish you could have been at ARtful Journey with us! Those kind of trips are so special and so worth it.

Your Mom's quote at the top gave me a good laugh.

I really like this sketch. Everything element compliments the other. It would make a good painting too.

Katelen -- I quite like your wistful lady, her freshness and delicacy. As for taking trips, lately I'm lucky if I get away for about 24-30 hours for an overnighter up to the Berkshires or Vermont. But it's enough. I think it's hitting the open road and driving for hours that loosens me up, returning revived. Go for it!
