This done in pastel..I love pastel yet I always never work in it..When I do I remember that I love to work in the touch of its softness and bold beautiful colors .
I have been working in my house trying to motivate my self and paint pieces of furniture that have been waiting..I finished one piece and it is red and I love it..It was my great grandmother's. I do hope she would approve that I painted her furniture Red.
So this piece which is not perfect but it is for me and it made me think ..To be a Queen you must have a throne... Throne's can come in all sizes and shapes. So tell me girls what does your throne look like?
Have a great weekend.
May you always dream in Color.

This post made me laugh... I don't really have a throne but my husband would argue and say my computer chair is my throne! Great pastel drawing!
I love pastels too, although I find it rather hard to work with. I think my throne would also be my computer chair. Tee Hee. Have a great weekend. Nice post.
hmmm... i think I'm happiest on my little dirt bike! I haven't messed with pastels yet, but this made me really want to get them out. I have some cheap ones... do they count?
btw- i love your throne and your words!..
i like your throne tis simple and Ooozes healing.. i think my throne would have to be sitting on my tiny silky bright orange cushion..legs crossed and most at ease :o) i've had pastels for years and only used them once..a rather messy result lol..was just thinking of having another play...xx
I think my throne is a hammock, and I'm laying in it wrapped up in a big down comforter. ; )
Love your blue pastel throne.
Beautiful work in every way, Katelen. Enjoy your weekend :) xx
Pastels have such a unique flavour, bold with a certain softness to them, very nice.
I enjoyed your story about your great-grandmother's chair. That is some treasure to have!
I'd have to say my throne is my desk and chair. Hubby knows how I can be territorial:)
love the quote.
hope you're having a good weekend.
Katelen I want to see the piece of furniture you painted red! I love red! I have two older wooden rocking chairs that I am thinking of painting red.
Love your pastel piece, I have never work with them.
My computer chair is probably my throne but a big overstuffed comfortable armchair would be nice. (Big enough to curl up in with plump cushions). I love working with oil pastels but don't do it nearly as often as i would like to. Your throne piece is glorious Katelen!
what inspiration!
this is GORGEOUS,
DREAMY, HEAVENLY,
as well as
fun/true/blue/you.
i am so throne-moved.

at scrumptious anthropologie
& it finally went on sale for half off/
full of sweet embroidered flowers!
SO lovely to visit here...

very lovely! Bright yet soothing. Love the look of pastels...
You crack me up on my blog Katelen. The more I get to know you the more I wished you lived around the corner!!
Oh i love your throne with the beautiful deep blue! I worked with pastels years ago, but it's not my cup of tea so i thought, because i love how it looks when properly used, but i was messy with it. But now i have discovered it again and use it on canvas wíth acrulics. And i love it! New possibilities....
Great post Katelen!
Sweet greetz for you and i hope you have a wonderful weekend!
May I please take your "throne" pastel off your blog to send to my Best Friend Artist who is the queen of the Southern Arizona Arts Guild?
