There is a Time for Everything

As you remember I am de-cluttering in my life and in my home and studio..I am still working at it and as I said once before it could take a life time..I am on my way and still have a long way to go..I do have a collection to take away..So as I took this photo it reminded me sometimes beauty is in the compacting of things no longer needed.
I think this is my time in life ....a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away....Ecclesiastes 3:6

Have a good weekend.
May you always dream in color.

i've been doing a similar de-cluttering here and feel it's going to take forever. just tonight i returned to the huge box of cards and mementos i've kept for my entire life and gleaned off one more pile that i feel i can let go of. it's an ongoing process i guess. good luck with it.

Hi Katelen. I always dream in color. I'm leaving another comment because I think I lost the other one. I too am doing the same and it is so hard to rid one self of "stuff" we've had for years. Good luck to all of us. Have a great weekend .

This de-cluttering is good on so many levels. I take a break once in awhile and then return to it refreshed. Love the photo!

REDUCE was my word for 2009 but I have carried it with me because that year I started taking one day (Tuesday) where I tore into to some drawer(s) or closet(s) and got rid (throw away/give away) of 27 things. I also made a rule that if I bought a new pair of shoes, book, etc. - I get rid of one. This has helped with the accumalation factor and when I go to purchase- having to think about what I have to give away to have it makes me more thoughtful. I am so impressed by your photograph and how it conveys the message of compacting our stuff.

Wonderful photograph dear katelen. And yes, sometimes it's time for de-cluttering. To make new space for everything new.

Have a wonderful week!

A great photo!
The de-cluttering is so important, I think.
I find that it SO clears my mind of confusion, and being scattered mentally.

not an easy place to be, but it can be a good and rich place. may we all be willing to search ourselves, and let go of the things that hold us back. sometimes that even means giving up the good for the best.

much love to you!!

That is a lovely quote..and I hadn't realised it was from the bible. Decluttering simplifies things for us...it is a physical AND mental and even a spiritual process. I try and tidy as much as possible too...especialy after a studio session!

Absolutely spot on! I can see so much in that image. Words are superfluous.

Roger

intriguing photo. i find that is art in and of itself. i dont see clutter..i see mixed media and stories and life.
it is good to remove all the excess, extra from our lives and our minds. hope that helps clear space in your life!

I didn't know there was a scripture for decluttering! lol. Our homes and minds all need a good de-clutter now and then. Have you heard of Fly Lady?? You might like her if you havn't. FLY stands for Finally Loving Yourself and her website is about decluttering our lives and bringing peace from chaos. She is a christian too. You get free daily emails of encouragement and 'challenges' and it's not at all boring! This month is 'pampering ourselves' last month was menu planning...anyway something for everyone if you are interested!
