Silence within our self is good. Silence from others are not.

Acrylic on canvas . This piece hangs on my wall in my studio. That is a stupid thing to write since a lot of my art hangs on those walls...LOL... I am a person which never finds it hard to talk..I never meet a stranger. Some of those strangers have become friends.. It is strange when I was a young girl growing up, I never talked. I stayed to my self and was happy writing and drawing. I really did not need communication with others. Then I was called Strange or Weird..
Then one day I started talking to just about anyone that would talk back to me. Now I am called a Artist..LOL....
Sometimes in life you know someone no matter how much to try to talk to get no response. You get nothing. That is how this piece was created..Out of frustration and a whole lot of sadness. So when someone does not talk to me I pick up my pen and I write and I write and write and then I paint.... Sometimes in reverse.
This piece was created several years ago.
I hope everyone has a great and creative week ahead.

May you always dream in color.
Katelen

I feel that way with writing to people emails included... I write to people/family and not hear back...just silence for no reason! I hate that lack of response! Your painting is a strong piece expressing your frustration.

i use art as my creative escape from the sometimes harsh realities of life,,, and also to celebrate the good as well...

it's a wonderful outlet right at our fingertips either way! and it's nice to post on our blogs and get feedback!

communication...we all have a need for some form of it, right....eye contact is best!

ciao
have a nice night...

have you come by for my small giveaway?

see you soon!

I'm so glad you dropped by Katelen so I could discover your glorious blog. BTW it is not a stupid thing to say that most of your art is on the walls because most of mine aren't!! They are on the floor propped against the walls.

I wish I could write as well as you do. I hope to learn much from you in that regard.

Lots of emotion in this piece!
I am still working on your painting sweetie.
I have had to begin again, I was unhappy with something I tried to do on it. It's funny how I cannot re-produce a painting I've already done. It is always a bit different.

Hugs!!
What you said to your Mom is truth. Is there something you two enjoy doing together?

as artists, I think we do tend to live in our own little worlds, and why not? it is such a lovely place!! xo

I love that you have found your voice, and talk to all! I was similar - really kept to myself, now I talk to strangers in grocery stores, or where ever, and enjoy many exchanges that my silence would never have provided! hugs to you Katelen!! xox Karin

Connecting with others...keeping your heart open is a good thing. Not everyone is in that place. This piece has such wonderful colors combined in such a beautiful way...the writing is well placed...almost hidden but not.

As a young person I was so shy I barely spoke to anyone, walked around looking down all the time. Then I "woke up" and now I talk all the time!!

I love your art. It always speaks to me.

Hey Katelen,

Love the piece. You're very much like me...lol! I'm a talker and when i was a child I was very shy! Now..... I'll talk to anyone about anything...lol!

That is one powerful image! And, yes -- we ALL have artwork on our walls, and in drawers and stacked in pile -- what a pity, isn't it? Funny, but I've gone the opposite way -- chatty when younger, now quite content to spend hours by myself, communicating through my artwork. Keep your open spirit alive! We are witnesses for each other! :-)

I love how and what you wrote here. So do you think we should all stop writing to you or communicating with you so we can see more of your beautiful art such as your example??? LOL

Funny, I can't imagine you having ever been at a loss for words.Your 'voice' with art speaks volumes, also.
This is a beautiful piece,(gorgeous color) and I also like your sketch in the previous post.

Combining the writing with the painting or vice verse does bring more meaning to the work

Love these rich earthy tones, very fitting for the kind of emotion you were dealing with. I can so relate to your early years of being extremely quiet & inward, people laugh at me today when I tell them how quiet and shy I had been :-)
