Copper Dreams

Abstract 20x24 acrylic on canvas. You really can not see all the color in this.
For it seems most of my life I have always had dreams, ones that I can remember, even all the small details even to the color of the book that was opened for me for to see the amazing colors that we all search for in our painting. I suppose some people say dreams are just nonsense . It is true some dreams are but some there is a message to those who will listen.
Copper Dreams is from a dream....Not so much this painting because I've yet to find those colors in my palette. But the copper does come from that dream.
For those that do believe in dreams, I hope you enjoy.

May you always dream in color,
Katelen

The metallics never seem to photograph 'true' do they. Lovely piece! Thanks for visiting, I see we have a mother thing in common too :) Where else would we be.

This image brings back happy memories of going through a big box of 64 Crayola Crayons and finding the special Copper-colored crayon. That copper one always made every other color alongside of it look better, just because it was so different. It was also nice just to hold the Copper crayon in your hand and feel like you had a treasure. The Gold crayon was actually too commonplace and didn't have the same effect. Your use of Copper here is playful and masterful, especially in the flowery shape at the edge which follows the advice, "Always leave them wanting more."

I do believe in dreams! Metallic colors are always difficult to capture in a picture or a scan....this is lovely. I like the colors you've used.
