12x20 mixed media on water color. I went into my studio today and sat down. I just picked up a bottle of Golden's paint which is my favorite. I put down a layer and let it dry and then more layers of different colors.. Then I just sat there again. Then I realized don't listen to the voice that keeps telling you , you can not be a artist..You have no talent..Look at all those people who have real talent. You need to get a real job..
Satan is real, he tries to make us not believe in our self..To feel trapped or entangled.
So I thought of so many people who feel this way in life..Caught like a bird in wire and can not fly.
I need not to listen to that and give God the glory of everything I do and believe him. He said I gave you life and I gave you talent and use it for my Glory.
So I shall, I am blessed, God is my creator and I am a artist..
So I am sorry if I have felt sorry for my self in the last post.. I should not complain, because there are so many more people out there that does not know love or realize God loves them.
He believes in you, so believe in your self.
May your always dream in color.

I love this painting and what it represents. Thank you for sharing so honestly. Your willingness to be vulnerable is really inspiring. You most certainly are an artist!
" I am ...a Sculptor
a painter
a thinker
skilled
creative
...an artist."
let your light shine and break free!!
We all get that voice Katelen..... all the time..... but we squash it because we know who we are and we believe in ourselves... in our art.
Love the piece!
You are definitely an artist! Your work is beautiful. I think we all hear that voice that tells us we're not good enough, no matter what we do in life. It's how we react to that voice - that's what matters.

My feelings about art are everyone can become an artist if they wish. The endeavor is so broad and encompassing as to include every idea, thought or talent imaginable. It doesn't matter whether one posses or lacks the traditional skills we associate with art because so many of the major abstract artists lacked those very skills and went on to make profound statements about art. Conceptual artists have never bothered themselves with drawing skills or painting technique, they present an entirely different view of the aesthetic experience, filled with meanings about our existence and the real world. The only thing necessary for the production of art is the will.
I am so happy you recognized so quickly! Your art piece is fantastic!! So glad youstopped by my blog and commented leading me here to see and read, you have been a blessing in my life today!
Those pesky negative voices never tire. Sometimes they are too loud for us, but most of the time we can turn them into our inspiration. Glad you found your inspiration and completed this piece! And yes, you are an artist.
Your art is so beautiful, try not to doubt yourself... (I know we all do sometimes) There is a quote I love. I think it goes like this..."To be Creative is God's gift to you... to use your creativity is your gift to God." I really feel this is true. Roxanne
Beautiful, powerful, and meaningful!
This is a beautiful piece. I love that you create what your heart is telling you. And, as I look at it (I don't know if you did this intentionally) the wire the bird is in is shaped like a heart - It's like God said to you - Katelen, you are encased in MY love!!
YOU ARE!!
Blessings
I like what mary has said above .. Katelen, you are encased in My Love ... blessings to you!! Keep creating!!! Satan just does not like how close we can feel to God when we are creating something! Love the piece!
Katelen, I sooo feel what you are saying and YES! you are on the right track.. God is a GREAT God!
Art on, monica :)
p.s. I only know of a couple of girls in this area who mixed media art- Scottsboro is one of them. I fellowship with lots of artists but mostly on the net! So great to cross paths with you!
You are a gift to us.
